UTComp is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas (Tom) Shewfelt as Director, Sales and Business Development.

Shewfelt is a seasoned sales professional and Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with more than 30 years of experience driving business on a global scale.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tom to UTComp,” said Jo Anne Watton, CEO of UTComp. “As Director, Sales and Business Development, he will advance our growth in industrial non-destructive testing applications for FRP composite assets worldwide.”

“I am excited to be part of the team at UTComp and look forward to serving existing customers as well as generating new opportunities for UltraAnalytix, UTComp’s proprietary non-destructive testing (NDT) technology,” Shewfelt said. “My background in the protective linings and corrosion industries provides a solid base to build on in the FRP composites industry.”

Prior to joining UTComp, Shewfelt spent more than a decade in business and sales management for Polycorp Ltd., an Ontario-based company ​​producing materials and systems for corrosion and abrasion protection in rail car, chemical, mining and other industries.

His industry experience, technical skills and commitment to customer satisfaction will further enhance UTComp’s ability to provide exceptional service and solutions to improve the performance and safety of industrial equipment made of FRP composite materials, Watton said.
