UTComp will showcase our revolutionary UltraAnalytix NDT technology for FRP composite asset inspection at the American Petroleum Institute 2022 Inspection and Mechanical Integrity Summit, Aug. 9-11, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
Visit us at booth #504 to learn how UltraAnalytix non-destructive testing technology ensures FRP composite reliability while saving companies millions of dollars in asset replacement costs.
UltraAnalytix is the only ultrasonic NDT method with inspectors certified in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A practice to provide Fitness-For-Service assessments of FRP composite assets.
Geoff Clarkson presents Aug. 9 on objective FFS evaluation for FRP composite assets
UTComp founder and CTO Geoff Clarkson will present “Objective Fitness for Service Evaluation of Polymeric Equipment” August 9 at 16:05-16:45 in the Downstream Engineering & Asset Integrity Management sector track. See full program schedule.
Abstract: Polymeric materials are used in many ways to reduce corrosion damage for industrial, infrastructure and municipal applications. Applications include storage tanks, scrubbers, reactors, piping and linings of steel and concrete. For new constructions, a variety of standards and codes are used that stipulate resin and reinforcement material selection, design, manufacturing, and quality control details. None of these standards and codes apply after the equipment is placed in service. Damage progression in polymers is profoundly different from metals, so none of the practices used for metals can be applied. This presentation will show how Fitness for Service can be determined based on an existing ASTM standard. A number of practical implementation methods will be described including non-destructive and non-intrusive methods.
