10 years and still going…

December 2018

As I sit at my computer to write this message, there is a soft snow falling outside and I hear my team hustling and bustling at their desks. Like elves, we are all working hard to get the final reports and information out to our customers and licensees before the holiday break. It is lovely to hear the excitement in their voices for both the upcoming season and the opportunities that are coming in 2019 for UTComp.

The coming weeks mark the end of a yearlong celebration for us. It has been 10 years since we released UltraAnalytix®, our ultrasonic technology, to the world expanding on our fiberglass engineering capabilities. At the end of every year we get to have an opportunity to both look back to the past to see how far we have come and then to look forward to where we are going. In 2000, Geoff Clarkson took on the challenge to find a better way to inspect fiberglass reinforced plastic equipment. I am not 100% sure that he knew what he was getting into and the successful journey that this would take.

In 2008, we had completed enough research to know that it is reliable, valid and we were giving customers the best information possible. Since that time, we have successfully provided thousands of customers around the world with the ability to make data driven decision about their FRP equipment.  As a result, employees are safer, risks are lower, and decisions are wiser.  We have found great partners in our network of global licensees. Watching them bring this offering to their customers and build businesses is very gratifying.

2019 is just a few days away! We see incredible things happening for the UTComp family: employees, licensees and customers. We will be expanding our licensee network, working in new regions of the world, adding Engineers and other staff to our team, and growing customer base. We are continuing with our research and there will be an exciting offering soon to be announced and brought to the market. Our partner in this development has exclaimed it to be “a game changer”.

We wish you and yours all the best for the upcoming holiday season and a most prosperous New Year!

Jo Anne and Geoff
